How to Know Jesus

We believe each individual life has
meaning and purpose.

Purpose
We strive to encourage and help each individual to live as People of Growth and People of Impact, following Christ's command to love God and to love each other (Matthew 22:37-40).  In living this out, we encourage everyone to celebrate God's work in us and through us by joining with us in worship; to connect with God more intimately in their life as well as with others by joining in relationship building and small group bible studies; and lead each individual to contribute their life and resources to ministry activities that will change the world, serving as Christ came to serve the world.

Agreed Statement of Belief

These are the beliefs the Church of the Nazarene hold to be true:

We believe in one God-the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
We believe
that the Old and New Testament Scriptures, given by plenary inspiration, contain all truth necessary to faith and Christian living.
We believe
that man is born with a fallen nature, and is, therefore, inclined to sin, and that continually.
We believe
that the unrepentant are hopelessly and eternally lost.
We believe
that the atonement through Jesus Christ is for the whole human race; and that whosoever repents and believes on the Lord Jesus Christ is justified and regenerated and saved from the dominion of sin.
We believe
that believers are to be sanctified wholly, subsequent to regeneration, through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
We believe
that the Holy Spirit bears witness to the new birth, and also to the entire sanctification of believers.

We believe
that our Lord will return, the dead will be raised, and the final judgment will take place.

History
GCN was organized in 1986 by Pastor Rick Power and a small group of believers that originally met in a house.  They believed that God's vision was to plant a church in the Georgetown area that would proclaim the message of Holiness. After nine years of meeting in a few temporary locations GCN broke ground on a 16-acre site for their permanent location in 1995.

Little did they know at the time when they chose the church site on the east side of town that years later in 2008 their facility would be located between a new major toll road (Highway 130) and the new GISD 9th Grade Center.  God knew all this before it happen and His vision for GCN is still the same today as it was in 1986, and that is to build His Kingdom by reaching  spiritually unsure people for Christ.
